The first app for visually impaired learn to play guitar without braille.
Before learning to play guitar, people with visual impairments need to know Braille. And even those who do often face a major challenge: reading the chords and playing at the same time. The worst part? In Brazil, only 23% of visually impaired people know how to read Braille. So, with the help of a blind guitar teacher, Samsung developed an app that dictates the chords as they appear in the song — allowing blind guitar students to keep both hands on the instrument for the first time. The system announces the exact moment when each chord must be played. Inside the app, users find a list of songs. After selecting one, they can choose to learn the chords individually or play along with the full song. All in a platform that is 100% accessible.
