samsung > digital literacy

How do you bring literacy to those left out of the digital age? By turning purpose, innovation, and e-waste into access.

In partnership with the Paulo Freire Institute, we transformed old Samsung smartphones into learning tools. Installed in recycling cooperatives, these devices became the foundation of mobile classrooms, where adults learned to read and write using a custom-built app based on Freire’s literacy method, using their finger as a pencil and the screen as a notebook.

Over 300 people overcame illiteracy. For many, their very first post on social media was about how to properly discard electronic waste.

Recycled tech. Regenerated education.

Digital Literacy proved that inclusion is a matter of action — and essence.

We repurposed Samsung's old electronic devices by partnering with the Paulo Freire Institute to create a mobile app aiding illiterate people to read and write in just 8 months.
