Since 2018, the WHO (World Health Organization) has classified gambling addiction as a disease.

That’s why, while Brazil’s CPI das Bets (Congressional Inquiry on Betting) exposes how influencers and platforms have fueled a culture of loss, B3 (Brazilian Stock Exchange) and Genial Investimentos, in partnership with IBN (Brazilian Institute of Neuromarketing), came together to fight gambling addiction in an unexpected way: with more gambling.

DetoxBet uses the same addictive mechanics behind betting. But here, they’re repurposed as treatment, teaching people how to invest for real, with zero financial risk.

To test the project’s effectiveness, a neuroscience experiment was conducted.

The results showed it’s possible to feel the same thrill as betting, without the dangers. The game delivered more emotionally balanced gameplay, with reward peaks up to 4x stronger and up to 50% less stress.
